Boats and Jet Skis, also Motor Cycles and ATVs. Even Park Models are considered RV's. Usually we think of
RV's as related to camping.
RV Lot Owners
... Why not rent your RV lot?

First of all, it is a good investment. Private ownership of deeded RV lots is on the increase. Instead of owning a second home, some would rather have their RV for traveling and an RV lot at their favorite destination where they can park the RV for extended periods of time. Second homes require lots of upkeep, maintenance and taxes. RVers prefer to stay in an RV park or campground which offers full hook-ups. The latest trend is to own an RV lot in an owner-associated park. Leasing for a long term, such as the winter season, is available at Larger Corporate Parks, as well as privately owned lots in Owner Associated Parks. Some RVers own two or more RV lots across the country. Alternately, they can rent or lease the one they are not using. If your lot is located in a tourist area like Florida, you might want to rent out your lot to tourist in the summer and use the lot for yourself in the winter. Flee to the cool mountains or the far north where cool summer temperatures can be found. For those fulltimers who don't own a home, RV lots offer a place where you can store the things not required for traveling. Call it your home base and enjoy seeing the country until you decide to settle down. The lot might be just the place you will spend your settled years. It is possible that you can put a Park Model on the property when your traveling days are through. RV lots are work free. The lawn is usually taken care of by the owners association. For instance, in my park the monthly fee for all services, including water, sewerage, garbage, irrigation, pool, laundry and lawn care is only $50. We are 31 owners. Depending on the covenants of the RV park you can rent your lot when it is not being used. Usually it is not permitted to rent you RV along with the lot because that would defeat the spirit of an owner associated park. Some parks allow only adults, no children and no pets and no renting of the lots. Some large parks have programs that allow you to leave a Park Model on leased property. See Park Models. RV parks located in tourist destinations, especially the mountains and beaches, or favorite areas for people to spend time. An RV lot in these areas offer a fun place to be without spending a fortune to be there. Hotels, Motels and Condominiums are very expensive. These areas are also more conducive to renting, since the tourist are looking for rentals. It's definitely got advantages over owning a condo!
Retirees, think about
this. Lots of folks, when they retire, want to rid themselves of all their accumulated possessions and simplify their lives. They do not have to worry about keeping, maintaining and storing those items that are no longer needed. Earthly possessions generate stress in our lives and some of us are happier without them. Think about what you have used over the past year. Do you really need it? Have you found items that you did not remember you had? When we were younger, we needed more things and we had more energy to use them. Now after experiencing life we know that contentment if found in quiet ways, observing things thoughtfully and appreciating nature and the simple life. When RVers decide to go fulltime their biggest problem is how to let go. Talk with a fullltimer. They will tell you that they got over the break with possessing stuff and are much happier without it. Give things to the kids and friends who need whatever you have. Remember ... you can't take it with you, so why not give it to the children now .... while you can enjoy their appreciation for it. Owner associated parks are usually well kept, quiet and relaxing, not like campgrounds where traffic comes and goes. A private RV Park that allows Park Models might just be the thing for you. Some Owner Associated Parks only allow RVs and others are geared to Park Models. A Park Model is a cross between a Mobil Home and an RV. Actually Park Models are considered RVs. They are more permanent, because they are anchored down and not meant for traveling. There are many choices you have. Some RV resorts are large and offer many amenities such as, swimming pools, workout rooms, specially designed homes with motor home carports, RV parking during the time you are away, golf courses, wellness care centers ... anything you might want, available within close proximity.
